COVID travel guidelines and treks in Jul-Aug: (Updated 16th June 2021):
As the COVID cases are declining and the 2nd wave is tapering off, we are all set to start treks from July again. With our fingers crossed, we recommend you to take:
1) At least one vaccine job before the trek.
2) RT-PCR negative report, even if a particular state has not made it mandatory. This is for your own and other team member’s safety as well as to avoid any unwanted situation during the travel.
Here are the latest travel requirements (COVID advisories) to reach the trek bases:
Treks in Uttarakhand: Ongoing COVID curfew extended till 22nd June. Hence travelling is restricted. We are hopeful that this will be relaxed by early July. All tourist entering Uttarakhand needs to fill in this MANDATORY Uttarakhand Travel Card.
As July and August are the monsoon months here, so a trek like Valley Of Flowers only makes sense. We are open for bookings from early July. Other major treks in Uttarakhand will resume in post monsoon, i.e. September onwards.
Treks in Himachal Pradesh: Himachal Pradesh is now open for travelling and tourism following COVID protocols. Inter state travellers are no longer required to carry a COVID negative report with them. All tourists entering Himachal Pradesh are required to fill the Mandatory COVID E-pass.
However the most of the treks in Kullu – Manali – Parvati valley region (e.g. Bhrigu lake, Beas Kund, Hampta Pass or Pin Parvati Pass etc.) do get usual monsoon during July and August and we will resume treks in September. Monsoon has little impact on treks beyond Rohtang Pass, which are in Lahaul or Spiti.
Treks in Kashmir Travelling is open for inter state tourists. All travellers arriving at Srinagar has to go through a COVID test (Rapid antigen test). A negative test report will allow you to avoid isolation and go through your proposed tour.
Usual monsoon wind has very little impact on Kashmir and Ladakh treks. It is the season for trekking here. We are open for bookings during July and August.
Treks in Eastern Himalayas (Darjeeling & Sikkim): This area has a long monsoon starting from early June and continue till late of September. It is very likely that travelling will be somewhat normal from October. Check the trek calendar below for treks available from October onwards. Filling in the Sikkim Travel Card is mandatory for all tourists entering Sikkim.
Due to COVID we are running a limited number of group departures this year. We are updating the Trek Schedule is for 2021. We update this schedule, adding more dates, time to time. Here is the current schedule:
